Sims 4 Screen Glitching then freezing whole computer (not the pixel issue)

At completely random times (could be 10 mins in could be an hour or two) while playing the game my screen will glitch (completely go green and blue and crazy) then the whole computer will freeze. After this happens the only thing I can do is hard boot the computer. After re-starting the game if enter the family I was playing at the time of the glitch the game glitches again. If I enter a different family all is well. This is not the illegal download issue and looks nothing like the screen shots I have seen of that. I am playing on a laptop but it exceeds all of the game requirements. I use Photoshop and AutoCAD often on the same laptop so I do not believe it is a graphics card or motherboard issue (though there is always a chance). Also I have already tried changing all of the graphics for the game to the lowest settings. Anyone have any ideas?????
