Need help with food from bar

First of all if I'm posting this in the wrong area I'm sorry. I was watching a sims letsplay on yotube today from someone doing the runaway teen challenge and I noticed that when she needed food she just went to one of the many local bars that are included in the base game, clicked on the bar, & a menu came up offering many different food options. When I click on one of the bars in these establishments the only food option that comes up is to order the free chips. Is this from one of the packs offered for sale and if so which one? I also noticed that the gym in Willow Creek in her game looks totally different with many things that are not in my game like a yoga studio inside of it, vending machines, a basketball court out back etc. like I said I assume that these are from packs but I'm not terribly concerned about the gym stuff but I like to play a lot of rags to riches challenges & wanted to start the homeless teen challenge & being able to order food from a bar or get it from a vending machine would be a fun new way to play these challenges but I need to know how to get these options.
