I have heard rumours that the Sims 4 will not be available on Mac? How could this be? Mac may not be as popular as PC for gaming, but there are still a lot of users out there, including me!

The Sims 2- Had two separate options- you could either buy it for PC or Mac- I seemed to find that Mac were a lot harder to get my hands on and they cost a LOT more!, which was odd

The Sims 3- You only had to buy one disc and it can work it both softwares.

I don't see why EA can't do the same thing, if they have already done it before?

Well if it's not on MAC- they will lose a lot of customers and fans- INCLUDING ME
and that would be really sad :(((

I never heard of that, I also have never heard of Mac's being popular for gaming. I don't think they would exclude it for Mac's EA likes money.

I have a mac too and originally I was fearful, because on the main site it said they were only making it on PC. I don't currently have the articles on me and I'm a tad lazy to go find them at the moment, so I may go find them later, but I do know that when they announced it they said they would make it for PC and Mac, so I am assuming they are just working on the PC version and then once that is out they will work on the Mac version.

As for sims 3 style I have never actually played it on my mac, so I don't know how well the running it on both discs work, but I read somewhere that it had some issues or something, at least with some computers or something, so I think they are going back to a sims 2 style and we will just have to wait a while longer than PC users to get out version of the sims 4.

No offence but this is an extremely old post. The people either found the answer or gave up on it.

Simon, bringing back old threads is encouraged here :) as the Sims 4 hasn't been released yet, news and facts are changing all the time so subjects like this are very much still relevant. :p to an extent of course and until Sims 4 releases.

I have a mac too, I opted to sell my Macbook Pro though and get a new Macbook Air (which is more portable but at the same time a bit weaker for gaming) but it can still run games pretty well! I'd go as far as to say the intel graphics are better than my old macbook pros dedicated graphics card.

So yeah to be fair I support having Sims 4 run on macs! If I do choose to play it on my mac, it'd be nice not having to use bootcamp on my mac to switch between Windows and OSX.

Yeah, but these types usually get answered by the asker or abandoned by the asker and back on topic, EA would be dumb not to include Macs

I did not do it to necessarily answer for the asker of this question. I did it rather because some of us...me...do not always get information first hand and sometimes have to resort to googling for the information and I answered because I thought if someone might Google it they would rather have an answer to their question rather than see it was left unanswered. I was looking at the bigger picture and thinking beyond this website. I do not know how many times I have encountered the same questions I have, but there was actually no answer given to the question, which can be beyond frustrating.

Ps: Also when you say no offense usually it is better off not to say the statement, because most of the time the said statement will be found offensive ;)

All I was doing was reminding the person that the thread was old. I didn't call him any names or anything.

And also you could've made another thread for other people since this one was targeted towards someone else. But if its okay with staff I'm good.

there is a more of a chance it being on mac because when i go to my local EB Games (AKA GAMESTOP For Places) they have a preorder box in the PC/MAC Games Section With A Big Box With The Realse Date That just Says "2014" and it has in the corner a "PC Game Icon" And A "Macintosh Icon" so they could be still scripting it in the unix language for Mac OS X

And is EB Games Canadian? or Australian. As for what you saw, things look very promising :D it's got me excited!

I'll skip Sims 4 since it has bad reviews. If they get their butts moving EA could make Sims 5 better. I hope they'll make up to us MAC since we got a snub by them when we MAC users couldn't use World Tool feature. I hope that We MAC users could be the only ones could use the World Tool on Sims 5. Also we can't get Ultimate Collection from Sims 2.

If they like Money so much you'll think they would love MAC users' money as for Sims 2 Ultimate Collection MAC Version. I think they are just to lazy.

If you can afford a $4,000 MAC then you can EASILY afford a $600 decent PC...

I have no experience with MAC but I guess that when you select the MAC PC's in place, must also be aware of its operating characteristics? Or am I just wrong? Once you have the MAC, it must have been a reason? MAC is unlikely to be intended mainly for gaming machine, but rather completely different use in mind. The games are just a bonus.
